Dr. Michelle Basil

Dr Michelle Basil graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2001. Dr. Basil has also trained in Activator technique and has studied Acupuncture in both Sri Lanka(1999) and at McMaster(2009) as well as several courses in Toronto. After first experiencing the healing effects of chiropractic care for her headaches at the age of 10, Dr. Basil began to understand and appreciate the complexities and abilities of the human body. So, while she was initially exposed to chiropractic as a healing tool, she was also set on a path with a guide to a healthier lifestyle and the foundation was laid for a lifetime of wellness and health promotion. Today, after 20 years of practice, Dr. Basil enjoys incorporating a wide variety of tools and techniques into her practice, always being sure to include an individualized, patient-centred approach to help overcome injury, restore function and sustain wellness. In addition to gentle and accurate chiropractic adjustments and mobilizations, Dr. Basil incorporates a variety of soft tissue techniques including Activator, Graston, myofascial release and exercise rehab to help patients reach their goals. Dr. Basil is licensed by the College of Chiropractors of Ontario and is a member in good standing of the Canadian Chiropractic Association and the Ontario Chiropractic Association. When she’s not in clinic you might find Dr. Basil out in the community with her family, Michael, Gabi and Benjamin and Portuguese water dog, Kali.

Frequently Asked Questions
Expect to be welcomed and comfortable in our office. You will be with the doctor for 30 to 45 minutes. Together we will review your health history, any issues you are experiencing, and your goals. Depending on your history and condition an examination will be performed which may include postural assessment, orthopaedic, neurological, and muscular testing. Your visit will be comfortable and informative. We will answer any questions you may have, explain our findings and let you know how we can help. A detailed report of findings is often reviewed on your second visit as well.
In order to provide the best care we have to assess and diagnose each new patient before we can provide care.
A regular visit typically lasts 10 to 20 minutes depending on your unique condition. Your first two visits are longer, as described in the 'What can I expect on my first visit?' section above.
Each patient is unique. Our job is to help you be as well as possible, as soon as possible, coming to see us as little as possible. That being said, healing takes time and the muscular and nervous systems learn through repetition. We will always let you know what we think is necessary and you will choose how much care you need.
We will provide you with a receipt/statement after each visit which you can submit to your insurer.
